What is a Birth Doula?
A birth doula is a trained labor support person. As your Doula, I work directly for you and not your healthcare provider or place of birth. I will provide holistic care in the form of informational, emotional, and physical support, and I will represent constant, reassuring support to you and your partner throughout the last few weeks of pregnancy, birth, and the first few weeks postpartum.
Are you doing consultations in person or over Zoom?
Usually, our first conversation or consultation will be over the phone or via zoom. Doula clients may opt for prenatal appointments and private Childbirth Education Classes to be done virtually or in person.
Do you offer Virtual Doula Support?
Yes! Hospital and Birth Center policies regarding labor support are ever-changing. If your birthing location does not allow a second support person, we can work together to create a custom Virtual Support plan.

Do you attend… Homebirth? Hospital Births? Birth Center Births? Planned Caesareans?
Yes! I attend births anywhere that it is safe to do so, as long as you are in the care of a trained medical care provider. Please reach out to me if you have additional questions!
Aren’t Doulas only for a certain type of birth?
Every person giving birth deserves to have someone on their team that is trained and experienced in providing custom support during pregnancy, labor, and delivery.
I have supported families giving birth at home, at freestanding birth centers, and at the hospital, waterbirths, inductions, home-to-hospital transfers, through both planned and unplanned cesareans, VBACs, multiples, and births with special considerations.
My philosophy surrounding birth is that it is a unique experience for everyone. You deserve compassionate, evidence-based support throughout your journey, regardless of where you plan to give birth, the type of delivery you have, your desire to use or not use, pain medication, or the structure of your family unit. I will be there for YOU.
A doula can truly support any birthing person, regardless of the type of birth they have.
Are you a certified doula?
Yes! I am a Certified Birth Doula in good standing through Childbirth International.
Do you offer Gift Certificates?
Absolutely! Gift Certificates can be purchased for any service. I also offer payment plans and gift registry listings. Please contact me for more information!
What about my husband, wife, or partner? Do I still need a doula if I already have support?
As your doula, my job is to support both the birthing parent and their partner(s) and not to replace them. I will work with you as a team and can even help them to support you more effectively!
Often birth partners are just as scared or nervous as the person giving birth and having a doula can make them feel more at ease and confident during delivery.
Have you been vaccinated for COVID-19?
Yes! I have been fully vaccinated against COVID and continue to mask and social distance so that I can keep myself, my family, and the clients I serve as safe as possible. My backup team is also all vaccinated!
What areas do you serve?
My doula & placenta encapsulation services and private childbirth class service areas include all of Pierce County as well as South King, and North Thurston counties - including but not limited to Tacoma, Seattle, Puyallup, Renton, Olympia, and Federal Way.
Group Childbirth Education classes are offered in-person in Tacoma.
If you are outside of this area but interested in my services, I may be able to make an exception based on availability. An additional travel fee may be added to the fee or we can discuss virtual services.
